Easy Carrot Saute With Honey And Thyme Recipe :-Since I became a parent, meal preparation has been a lifesaver for me, but it is not without its negatives. There are times when it is simply impossible to anticipate the level of activity that will dominate your week or the fact that you will have a yearning for tacos on Thursday rather than soup.

Consequently, although I require the structure of a meal plan in order to prevent our evenings from being a complete and total mess, I also enjoy the flexibility to change things up whenever the situation calls for it or when I am inspired to do so.
This Honey Carrot Saute was one of those ideas that came to our minds almost immediately.

My attention was drawn to it on a recent episode of Queer Eye, in which Antoni was successful in persuading a farmer who was a fan of steak to prepare and eat a vegetable for the first time in his life. As soon as we saw that his recipe was made with brilliant rainbow carrots, it was instantly added to our plans for dinner for the following evening. It appeared to be both sophisticated and completely wonderful.

  • Ready in fifteen minutes. Because it is so quick and easy to prepare, it is an essential component for me when it comes to side dishes.
  • Constructed using only basic components. Right now, who among us does not have a bag of carrots sitting in the vegetable drawer of their refrigerator? The only thing they are doing is waiting for their chance to shine.

  • Incredibly delectable tasting. Listen, it doesn’t matter if it’s the simplest recipe ever; if it doesn’t taste incredible, it will never be featured on this site. However, this saute made with carrots is simply exceptional.
  • The edges are roasted and caramelized, and the entire thing is topped in a honey butter glaze that is gently sweet and will have you coming back for more (and even second and third helpings).

  • To tell you the truth, on my recipe, it says that this dish is enough to serve four people. However, this is similar to how the box of Oreos specifies that two Oreos constitute one serving. It would be possible for me to consume the full pound of carrots by myself.
  • Because I was plucking them out of the blazing hot skillet, I didn’t even care if I burned my fingertips. I was doing it anyhow. That is how good they are. Come with me as I demonstrate how to create them!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound carrots
  • 1 Tablespoon butter
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 thyme stalks, leaves removed from the stem
  • 2-3 teaspoons honey
  • A few pinches Kosher salt
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions :

  • The carrots should be chopped into pieces of a comparable size. I prefer sticks that are approximately half an inch thick and two to three inches in length. On the other hand, if you like, you can also chop them into thick slices.
  • The butter and oil should be heated in a pan made of cast iron or another heavy-bottomed pot to a temperature of medium.
Add the carrots, cover the pot, and let them cook for four minutes without being stirred.

  • Take off the lid, give it a swirl, and then add the thyme, salt to taste, and red pepper flakes, if you like them.
The honey should be stirred in after the additional two minutes of cooking.
  • Continue cooking for a further one to two minutes, or until the carrots have a browned appearance and are soft when pierced with a fork.

Storing and Reheating Sauteed Carrots :

  • Make ahead:  Carrots should be cut up to twenty-four hours in advance. Pro tip: If you want to keep carrots that have been cut for more than a day, you should put them in a container that has a small bit of water in it. This will prevent the carrots from drying out.

  • Store: The carrot saute that is left over can be kept in the refrigerator for up to five days if it is put in an airtight container.

  • Reheat:  A pan placed on the stovetop and heated at low heat can be used to reheat leftovers, or individual portions can be heated in the microwave.
