Maroulosalata (Greek Lettuce Salad) Recipe

Maroulosalata, pronounced mar-U-lo-salata, is a Greek lettuce salad with finely chopped romaine, fresh herbs, creamy feta, and lemony dressing. This lettuce salad is simple yet flavorful and crunchy. 

Ingredient

– 2 hearts of romaine – 4 green onion – ½ bunch dill – ½ bunch mint – ½ cup crumbled feta cheese – Juice of 1 large lemon – Kosher salt – ½ teaspoon dried oregano – ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil

Direction

Get a big mixing dish with cold water. Thinly slice the romaine lettuce and crisp in the cold water for 5 minutes while you make the dressing and other ingredients.

Trim and finely cut green onions (white and green). Finely cut dill and mint leaves, removing the stem.

Whisk lemon juice, oregano, and a heavy pinch of kosher salt in a medium basin. Pour with extra virgin olive oil while stirring. Whisk to emulsify. Save for now.

Remove the salad from the cold water and dry well. Using paper towels or a salad spinner helps. Chopped herbs and feta go in a big serving basin. Gently throw everything.
