One Hour Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

These yeast-free 1-hour cinnamon rolls are simple to make. Breakfast cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting are delicious.

INGREDIENTS 

DOUGH: 2 cups (250 grams) all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons (25 grams) granulated sugar 4 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons (45 grams) unsalted butter softened 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk FILLING: 1 cup (200 grams) light or dark brown sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon 4 tablespoons (60 grams) unsalted butter melted and divided FROSTING: 2 tablespoons (30 grams) unsalted butter 3 ounces (85 grams) brick-style cream cheese 1/2 cup ( 60 grams) confectioners sugar 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1-2 tablespoons (15 to 30 ml) milk

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cooking spray a 9-inch cake pan and set aside. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.

Step 1

Cut softened butter, add milk, and mix until dough forms.  Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons melted butter in a small bowl.

Step 2

Keep the extra tablespoon of butter for dough.Knead dough for one minute on a lightly floured surface. Roll dough into a 1/4" rectangle with a pin.

Step 3

Apply remaining tablespoon of melted butter to dough. Leave space at the edges as you spread the filling on the dough.

Step 4

Carefully roll dough. Sharply chop the dough into 8 equal pieces. Since cinnamon rolls spread during baking, space them apart in the cake pan.

Step 5

Bake 18-22 minutes. Remove from oven and cool 5-10 minutes. Mix butter, cream cheese, confectioners sugar, and vanilla in a stand or handheld mixer.

Step 6

Slowly add one tablespoon of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached. Apply cream cheese frosting evenly to cinnamon rolls. Enjoy!
