The Best Pizza Chicken Recipe

Pizza Chicken is a 30-minute one-pan supper! With cheese and pepperoni, this will be a family favorite.

INGREDIENTS

– 2 teaspoons olive oil – 4 chicken breasts, pounded to an even thickne – 1 teaspoon Kosher salt – 1/2 teaspoon black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon oregano – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder – 14 oz jar pizza sauce – 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced thin (or 1 cup shredded mozzarella) – 16 pepperoni – 1/2 cup Mexican cheese blend (optional) – Basil, for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS

Put the big pan on medium-high heat and add oil to it. On both sides, season the chicken with the garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. 

Step 1

After putting the chicken in the pan, don't touch it for about 4 minutes, or until the bottom is brown. 

Step 2

Turn the chicken over and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees. Put the chicken on a plate and cover it to keep it warm.

Step 3

Add a little water to the pan while the heat is still on medium-high. Then, scrape up any cooked bits. 

Step 4

Put the sauce from the jar into the pan and let it cook for two to three minutes. Put the chicken back in the pan and flip it over to coat it with sauce.

Step 5

If you want, you can add a few slices of mozzarella and pepperoni to top each chicken breast, along with some shredded Mexican cheese mix.

Step 6

 Putting a lid or baking sheet on top of the pan will help the cheese melt. Wait one to two minutes.

Step 7

Take the pan off the heat as soon as the cheese starts to melt and put it under the broiler.

Step 8

If you want it brown and bubbly, broil it for two to three minutes. Take it out and, if you want, decorate it with fresh basil. You can eat pizza chicken by itself or with pasta.
