Easy Apple And Brie Grilled Cheese Recipe- Learn Like a Pro: I can’t wait for fall meals, the holidays, and colder weather this time of year! One of my favorite ways to quickly introduce fall tastes is with this Apple & Brie Grilled Cheese. Both children and adults enjoy this sandwich, which is perfect to prepare for a quick weekend meal.

For most people, apples are a major component of fall. Although there isn’t much of an apple-picking culture in Colorado, Betsy and I used to live in Washington, DC, and I kind of miss it. Bringing home an abundance of apples beyond your capacity to consume was as quintessentially American as it gets.

This Grilled Cheese with Apples and Brie is the ideal way to kick off fall and apple season. To make it work, you need to first sauté the apples with a little sugar and cinnamon, which is like making pie filling without the pie. After that, spread a generous amount of brie cheese over the bread.

FAQs AND QUESTIONs

What apples work best for grilled cheese?

  • These sandwiches will turn out nicely with any apple that you could use for a pie filling, in my opinion. Depending on your availability and preferred flavors, I’ve used granny smith, gala, and honeycrisp apples. All of them work wonderfully.

  • The larger, delicious red apples can become a little mushy if they are cooked, so I would avoid those.

What bread works well for these sandwiches?

  • I used a sturdy sandwich bread on this particular day, but I’ve used a variety of breads for this grilled cheese.

  • A good sourdough bread works well or I think something like pumpernickel would work really well too.
  • You want a bread that toasts well and can hold up to the filling without falling apart.
