The Best French Toast Recipe – Step by Step Guide

Spread the love

The Best French Toast Recipe – Step by Step Guide: This standard French Toast recipe is one that I love to make, especially on a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning. Something special about this rich and tasty French toast with warm maple syrup on top! I’ve been making it for a long time and have good enough at the steps to make it easy. I can get it on the table quickly whether I’m making it for a big group of people or just the three of us.

When you wake up in the morning, French toast is the best thing ever. This dish is always a hit when served with a bowl of fresh berries, bacon pieces, maple syrup, and whipped cream.

The Best French Toast Recipe – Step by Step Guide

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milkor half and half, coconut milk or almond milk
  • pinch
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugaror honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 slices sandwich bread
  • butter

  • Mix and dip.In a small baking dish with a flat bottom, mix the eggs, milk, salt, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon with a whisk. Add bread slices one or two at a time to the egg mixture. Flip the pieces over to make sure they are well covered on both sides.

  • Cook.In a big pan or on a griddle, melt the butter. Grill or pan-saute bread slices over medium-low heat for about two to three minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  • Do it.Keep warm in the oven until you’re ready to serve, but not for more than 30 minutes. Serve right away.

Recipe Tip! You are simply dipping your bread slices into the egg mixture. If you leave your bread in the mixture for an extended time, it will absorb more liquid and take longer to cook.

  • Air Fryer Method. Reheat in a single layer in an air fryer until heated throughout.

French Toast Without Eggs

I make an egg-free French Toast recipe that tastes like my classic recipe for a family member sensitive to eggs! There are two ways that I’ve made it, both with great success.

  • Cornstarch – replace the eggs called for in the recipe with 1/3 cup cornstarch.
  • Omit eggs – I have also made it by just omitting the eggs. The exterior is still crispy, and it tastes delicious.

Vegan French Toast

Use vegan butter, dairy-free milk, and one of the egg-free recipe options I provide above.
