One Pot Orecchiette With Sausage And Broccoli Recipe

In less than 30 minutes, you can make a family-friendly dinner with orecchiette pasta, sausage, veggies, and Parmesan cheese all in one pot!

INGREDIENTS

– 1 Tablespoon olive oil – 1 lb. sweet Italian sausage – 2 cloves garlic, minced – 4 cups low sodium chicken broth – 12 ounces orecchiette – 10.5 ounce bag frozen broccoli – 1 cup shredded Parmesan, plus more for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

Set the oil on medium heat in a very large Dutch oven or sauté pan. Put in the Italian sausage and cook it until it turns brown and is fully cooked. 

Step 1

Put in the garlic and cook for one minute, until it smells good.

Step 2

Add a little of the chicken stock and scrape the bottom of the pan with a spatula. Add the rest of the chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Step 3

Add the orecchiette and break up any pasta that is sticking together as you stir it in. Put the lid on top and cook for three minutes. 

Step 4

Add the veggies and stir. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring every now and then, until the pasta is soft and most of the liquid is gone.

Step 5

Add the Parmesan and let it melt while you stir it in. Add Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Add more Parmesan on top before serving.
